Ski week!!

Bye Alberto....Alberto is a friend from Peru who went home.

Now on to ski week!! From the 5th to the 12th of March I and other exchange students had ski week. It went from Saturday to Saturday. We skied on Sunday through Friday. To say the least I was tired, but all the skiing with my host family has really helped.

Breakfast was at 7;30, Lunch at 12;30 and dinner at 18;00 (6pm)

On Sunday in the morning I had ski lessons and then the afternoon was free. I was in the advanced group for skiers. We varied day to day from 12 to 15 people each day. I was really amazed at the people in my group-we could all ski very well and the best part was having so many people from other countries.

We had a lot of snowball fights. You can see the others lined up "firing" on us.

This was the hotel that we stayed in! This is was a very interesting time. One because we needed to hike up the hill every day to catch the bus to the ski slopes. After 6 days I swear this hill got steeper and longer. The second reason that I found this interesting and eye opening is because this hotel was very similar to my house in the states. There were hardly any neighbors around, snow, in the mountains and there were also about 20 ponies kept there. In the house there was a glass conservatory, looking down the valley, and the room I stayed in had the same sloping roof as back home. I would not say I am homesick but it was very interesting to be almost back in sense.

Skiing with Ashley and snowboarding with Grant. Well attempting too

Powder skiing!!!

skiing was tiring so we took a break and sat in the snow

some of the ponies at the hotel.

On Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we had ski lessons in the morning and then the afternoons we had free skiing!!

Thursday and Friday were free days and we could free ski the entire day!

Wednesday was also an exception because of skiing we got to go sledding. This was very dangerous but very fun.

we are getting ready to go. there were 70 exchange students going down the same hill at the same time. one can imagine how well this went over.

the oldies, everyone who came in August. going to miss them like crazy.

This has been an amazing week and I am only going to miss these amazing people more when I go back to the states. One of the things an exchange has taught me is use ones time wisely. I only have a year with these amazing people as well as with others and a year is not very long. You spend a lot of time on making friends and then a year later you all leave each other again.

Is leaving a life you have made for 16 years harder than leaving a life you have made for 11 months??

I don't know the answer to this but I can only imagine.

Thanks
